Bus route Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa

I am planning to travel from Takayama to Kanazawa via Shirakawago next November.
I already found the Nohi bus timetables and website to make reservations.
My question is: Can I buy a one-way ticket from Takayama to Kanazawa and stop for a few hours to explore Shirakawago or do I have to purchase two separate tickets (Takayama - Shirakawago and Shirakawago - Kanazawa)?
