Tokyo hotel help 2025/3/15 01:21
Hi there,

Ifm currently deciding between two hotels around Tokyo Station for a one-month stay from June to July. Both are similarly priced after discounts/promotions:

1. Hotel Kazusaya (near Shin-Nihombashi Station)

2. Sotetsu Fresa Inn Shimbashi Hibiyaguchi (near Shimbashi Station)

My main considerations:

Hotel Kazusaya has great reviews, but Ifve read that food options in the area are limited.

Sotetsu Fresa Inn seems to have better food choices nearby, but the hotel itself appears to have mixed reviews.

I will be attending a course at the University of Tokyo for two hours a day and plan to take day trips to nearby cities outside Tokyo.

If your staying at the same hotel for a month - I'd say that the size of the room and availability of easy washing machine access is more important.

Most places in Tokyo have good food options close by - or a quick bus/subway ride away.

I don't know enough - but it might be cheaper and more comfortable looking for a small apartment to rent for a month which others might know more about.

Staying in a business hotel is fine - but can get a bit squishy if your staying in the same room for a month.

Tokyu Stay has in room laudry machine. Their Suidobashi hotel offers a long stay plan which is about 400,000 yen for 30 days.

If you mean places to dine as opposed to places to buy groceries, Hotel Kazusaya is a quick walk to Kanda station area which food options are as great as Shinbashi or even better. You can even try to walk to Tokyo and Akihabara Stations not to mention the traditional department store of Mitsukoshi where restaurants and "take-out" is supposed to be among the best. And if you drink, there are rows of pubs of all kinds under the JR railway station.

Whoever complained about food options probably stayed only for a night or two and needed something really quick without having to explore. In fact, when you look at the restaurants inside each hotel, the ones inside Kazusaya are much better.
