Carparking in Mt Fuji and vicinity

Hi, am planning at last minute a road trip to Mt Fuji area in the middle of April this month for 4 days. covering the usual tourist spots. Is carparking expensive in the area, easy to find? any big difference for these between weekday and weekends?

Where is the best place to base ourselves if we will visit both Hakone and Fuji Five lakes areas?

I hope that is an optimum time to visit for cherry blossoms too.

Itfs a huge area. There is car parking. But Eg if you want to go to the famous pagoda by car, be prepared for a long wait in traffic, specially on a weekend before even getting to some parking facility.
