Navigating Fukui (Echizen Daibutsu) 2025/4/4 18:27
Hey all,

My partner and I fell in love with echizen daibutsu and would like to visit it.
We wonft have a car with us and plan to rely solely on public transportation.
We are a bit concerned and not sure if we should stay at Fukui for a night.

Echizen daibutsu seems not too accessible, we read on line you can get there with a bus which is active only once every 3-4 hours.

Maybe something has changed since and maybe not. We would like to read your opinions! Thanks!

Yes, this page contains details and a link to the bus timetable:

A taxi ride may be more practical.

Definitely worth visiting, plus the Dinosaur Museum, the Heisenji Hakusan Shrine, and Eiheiji.
Hopefully it hasn't been overrun by tourists yet.
