Dennis, buying land in foreign country is not quite the same as buying goods abroad.
You need to know the laws and regulations about real estate, about tax, etc. or someone (specialist) who have all those knowledge.

Not that you'll "probably" have to hire interpreter, but you absolutely have to hire (or consult with) a specialist.

Sorry if I sound harsh on you, but if you are asking how to find an interpreter on this forum where people can post anonymously (and nobody can take any responsibility!) for such an important issue, I wonder if you can manage negotiating and purchasing any land...

You should have to try to find more information by yourself. Use search engine (like Google) with key words such as "Japan property buy" and so on.

This is just one of the websiste I immediate located, for example.

Land 2006/3/1 19:26
I bought land in a rural area in the south of Japan. It is very straightforward to buy land in Japan as long as you have the money. I visited a number of real estate agents and had no problenas with any if them. I would call Japanese level intermediate.

Buying land seems so difficult. A harsh process that requires lots of cash. It seems now is the best time to buy but I dont know hardly any Japanese. Thank you for all of your help though : )
