Is this it? 2006/3/6 19:28
It is sung along the melody of "Funiculi, Funicula," a traditional song by L. Denza.

Oni no pantsu wa ii pantsu
Tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo
Tora no kegawa de dekiteiru
Tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo
Go-nen haite mo yaburenai
Tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo
Ju-nen haitemo yaburenai
Tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo
Hakou, hakou, oni no pantsu
Hakou, hakou, oni no pantsu
Anata mo, anata mo, anata mo anata mo
Minna de hakou oni no pantsu!

Rough translation into English (I'll use the word "imp" for "oni" here... is "ogre" the more common word?)

Imp's trunks are good trunks
They are strong, they are strong
They are made of tiger skin
They are strong, they are strong
Wear them for 5 years, they won't tear
They are strong, they are stron
Wear them even for 10 years, they won't tear
They are strong, they are strong
Let's wear them, wear them, imp's trunks
Let's wear them, wear them, imp's trunks
You, you, you, and you,
Everyone let's wear them imp's trunks!

Yeah, the lyrics AK posted are correct, except for one bit.

The line should be:
Anata mo, Watashi mo, Anata mo, Watashi mo

As in: You too, me too, you too, me too
etc.etc.

chikhra,

There seem to be a few different versions to that part... mine is where, as you sing the song, you would point to everyone around you, saying "you, and you, and you, and you..." and the one you know is where you would be pointing to someone in front of you and to yourself alternately :) Either way it's supposed to be encouraging everyone to wear those pants, and it's simply fun :)

oni no pantsu 2008/6/25 10:36
the oni is demon, not imp, but ogre is also used. also there is another verson where they go:

"okaasan to, obaasan to, anata to, watashi mo, (grandfather, and grandmother, and you, and me too)"

my japanese class decided they would do this song and dance just for the fun of it, and that was the version we used and that was what my sensei gave us as the translation

alternate lyric 2009/2/4 22:43
after the line about 10 years, instead of saying tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo, I've heard it sung kusai yo, kusai yo, which means they stink
