You can get a good one from Kotos and More ( http://www.kotosandmore.com/Shamisen.htm), actually I have been trying to reach the site admin regarding buying to, let me know if you have any luck~! That or you can a practice one from Ebay for around $500USD? This is a good item if you don't know if you really want to invest $1000USD+ on something you might not stick to.
