The Nagoya area isn't well known for its bathing facilities. But, a short tube (subway) ride away is one of Nagoya's only onsens (in an ex-pachinko parlour) just outside Higashi Betsuin station, on the Meijo line. A lovely (odd) place!

Sorry, can you tell me exactly where to find the onsen near Higashi Betsuin? I live near there.

I've actually been writing about sento under the tag of The Naked Gaijin. The first one will sent you to a series of articles about sento and onsen mainly around Nagoya, the second is an article published on the same topic (also by me). The Higashibetsuin sento is reviewed there, and full directions are given, as well as prices and what is available. To be honest, I didn't think much of Higashibetsuin, you'd be better off going to Sannou onsen from Nagoya - quick to get to and wonderful. Taihei Onsen is also great, about ten or fifteen minutes from Nagoya on the Aonami line. http://www.seekjapan.jp/userBlogList.php?genericUserNo=11973http://www.seekjapan.jp/article/jz/1435/Sento+Review
