furniture store district in tokyo? 2003/11/20 02:11
is there a furniture district in tokyo? in a similar way to tottenham court road in london which is full of furniture shops? if not, where's a good place to buy bed, sofa, coffee tables etc and do they have web links?

1. Meguro Dori St.
Meguro Dori St. in Tokyo is the hottest street for nice furniture from all over the world.
It is quite an interesting street just to walk around.
Nakameguro station on Toyoko Line from Shibuya would be convenient for you if you go there.

2. IDC Otsuka Kagu at Odaiba
It is the biggest furniture showroom in Japan. The showroom is membership only, but it is easy to join the member, and for free.

The biggest furniture shop is without a doubt the IDC Otuka Kagu (Furniture). IDC has a total of 8 showrooms with 2 in central Tokyo. The Ariake showroom, located in Odaiba, has 4 floors of furniture with a total floor space of 30,700m2. The other Tokyo showroom is in Shinjuku about a 2-minute walk from the south exit of the station. IDC has a selection of more than 42,000 pieces of furniture with 305 Japanese brands and 30 brands from overseas.
