I'm living out in the sticks bit am going to be in Omiya shortly. Was wondering if anyone knew of a decent imported food and wine shop in Omiya, preferably near the station. Any helpful replies would be much appreciated!

Marcus,
There is a smallish supermarket called "Ikari" actually inside Omiya station (in the Ecute area). This sells imported food and wine, and is similar in style to the Seijo Ishii supermarkets you'll find at Kawagoe and Shinjuku stations, amongst others.

Kaldi shops are all over Saitama and Tokyo. They have a very good selection of imported cheese, dried food, oils, and tinned food etc. There is a Kaldi store in the basement of Omiya station - in Lumine. Another one is in Saitama Shintoshin in Cocoon.
