The black & white square box 2007/7/31 21:51
I often see a black & white square on many Japanese magazines and websites. An example of this is in the lower right side of the following website:

Does anyone know what this is? Thanks!

It says "Watch by phone" next to it, but I have no idea what it means.

It is a bar code for mobile phones. If you scan them, your mobile phone will display the website.
