I came across a very unique way of eating sashimi in Kushiro Wasyo last winter. It is a fish market. First, you buy a bowl of rice from one of the stores. It comes with different sizes and prices, the shopkeeper will weigh the rice on the scale and charge you accordingly. Next, with the rice you go to the nearby stores selling fresh assortments of fish ( sashimi )and choose whatever fancy you. The market also provides with free seating for the diners. It was, in fact, one of the best sashimi breakfasts I had in Japan. It costs less than 1,000 yens, you choose what you want and how much to spend! It is just wonderful! I would like to experience something like this again in other Japanese cities and would greatly appreciated any recommendations. Thank you in advance.
