Ferry from Tokushima to Osaka

I am staying 1 noght in Tokushima and then going to Osaka. It seemed like the ferry might be a nice way to do that. My question is whether the ferry goes past the giant whirlpools at Naruta or whether I should go to see them from land before I leave for Osaka? Thank you.

I don't think there is a ferry between Tokushima and Osaka. But there is one between Wakayama and Tokushima, but it does not pass the Naruto whirlpools.

I think from my reading there used to be a ferry to Osaka or the airport but the route was cancelled a while ago.
