Chirihama Beach Drive in Noto Peninsula 2007/8/10 13:35
Can the scenic beach drive be seen from the northbound JR Nanao Line from Kanazawa to Wakura Onsen station or is it better to take a bus plying the same route?

Thank you

The train . . . 2007/8/13 08:14
. . . line runs much too inland to give a view of the coast. There is a coastal toll road near the ocean but I'm not sure the local buses run along that.

If you take a bus tour from Kanazawa I imagine it would take the toll road, for scenic purposes (it won't stop at the beach).

Chirihama beach is basically a sand flat about 50 yards wide

BTW, I just visited the famous Kujukurihama beach in Chiba over the weekend, and it has the same hard packed sand! Vehicles can drive up and down the beach near the waterline. However this feature is never touted about that beach. Kuju is a bigger beach, but sand is grayer.
