hi i was just wondering, is it common for young adults (in their 20s) in tokyo to drive? are cars affordable in Japan? (tokyo) im not too sure how costly it is to maintain a car in japan.
just curious....as the standard of living in japan is quite high^-^

No, I don't think it is at all common for young people in Tokyo to own cars. The reason is that parking fees are so high (you cannot own a car without proof of having a parking space) and the train/subway system is so convenient.

No in Tokyo it is not very common, it is costly to maintain the cost of owning a car, you need a parking space (space as you know is valuable in Japan, especially Tokyo). Many people commute by using the extensive public transportation network, then they do driving.

I see...wow, i didnt know that parking space is expensive. I thought the cost of getting a car will be more expensive.
