USD$17.000? 2007/8/30 20:44
I have read and already found a lot of information using this forum but i'd still like to give my own version =)

My only question is how long I can survive on a $USD17.000 budget in Japan?
I saved this amount to be sure to have some money incase I don't find a teaching job very soon.
Don't need any visa information since i'm married to a Japanese national.

Thanks for reading!

I hope that is $17,000 not 17.00 usd.

Well I or anyone else can't really answer your question. That sure is a bit of money when exchanged over to Yen, but you don't say, survive for how long, you don't say if your wife is working, what your cost of living is, you both live together, again does she work enough to cover bills too? If she works and your bills aren't too expensive and you are sharing paying the bills then yes it will last you a while if you budget and don't have a job. But there are SO MANY variables that come into play so it will be hard to answer "how long".
