JR rail pass or tickets? 2007/9/1 15:50
hi! I'm trying to understand what's the most economic way: to travel with the JR rail pass or just buy the tickets separately? we're two travelling only from narita to tokyo and then to kyoto and way back. Apparently the difference between both options is 30€...
Can anyone advise us? by the way ...We're travelling tomorrow!!

If you complete the round trip to Kyoto within 7-days, a 7-day Japan Rail Pass will cost about the same as regular shinkansen tickets. I recommend to go with the Japan Rail Pass, but it will probably be quite a challenge to purchase one within less than 24 hours (you need to buy it before leaving Japan).
