Is it expensive to rent for an apartment in kanagawa-ken ? Anybody knows how much does an apartment with 1 bedroom, 1 living room, 1 kitchen cost? I heard that houses in tokyo are expensive.Kanagawa is in tokyo right?? ....not too sure~

Xin, Kanagawa-ken is NOT in Tokyo. It is a neighboring prefecture. As you mentioned, basically the farther you are away from central Tokyo, the less expensive rents are. However, Yokohama or Kawasaki (in Kanagawa-ken) are themselves big cities and due to the closeness to Tokyo, rents are not so cheap. Also, rents vary greatly, depending on the distance from the nearest station or building itself (structure, age, window direction and so on).
If you have a job in central Tokyo and want a reasonable apartment, Saitama or Chiba (other neighboring prefectures) may have better options. Or even in Tokyo/Yokohama, apartments which is 15 min or over away from a station would be reasonable.
