Malaysian : Japan Visa requirement

Dear sir / madam,

I'm a Malaysian, working in Taiwan. I am currently holding the Alien Resident of Taiwan.

I plan to visit Japan in Oct / Nov. For Malaysian, we need to obtain a visa before entering Japan.

Could you please advise :
1. Do i need to obtain a visa if I am holding an Alian Resident of Taiwan?
2. If 'Yes', where do i need to go to apply for the visa? I couldn't find the office in the internet with add below:

Yes. Only your citizenship is relevant for visa matters.

Japan does not have an embassy or consulate in Taiwan. Instead, there is a "Interchange Association", which handles visa matters:
