That is a loaded question.

It all depends on the Sake brand, type, when and where you purchase it. A $30 (US) equals 3,461 (Yen). $300 (US) equals 34,608 (Yen)

I have had and purchased bottles both in the US and in Japan that ran that range.

I think the price range the above poster quoted is for 1 shou (= 1.8 litre) bottle.

If you are in Japan, you can buy sake in smaller bottles as well.
The one with 200-300ml is available from something around JPY300.
Quality sake in 500ml bottle from around JPY1,000.

Just like wine or whiskey in any country, anywhere from very cheap to very expensive.
As with wine, the cheap stuff is pretty cheap and the really expensive stuff is great but probably not justified by the price and the best tasting is probably in the 2000-4000 range. I bought some fantastic unfiltered ama-sake in Shirokawage that was about 2500.
