fruit museum in yamanashi

we are traveling in japan and will be leaving hiroshima and will be heading to yokohama, we would like to stop at the museum. we can not find the closest jr stop, and how far the museum would be from that station. where in fuji lakes is it located, and how far from yokohama?

I assume you want to locate Fruit Park in Yamanashi. Then, it is not on your way from Hiroshima and Yokohama. The park is near Yamanashi-shi station of JR Chuo line.

There is a fruit park in Hamamatsu, though. 1hr bus ride from JR Hamamatsu station.

. . . go out of the way to see that fruit park in Yamanashi anyway. It makes for a great JR Hike (they do sponsor one about every year). Of course you need to walk to the park, about 8 km away. There you can find a restaurant (of course) and an onsen, and a fruit museum. JR usually holds the hike in cherry season so they have shuttle buses to the cherry farms. They also provide a bus back to the station for a nominal fee.
