Safety at night at Ueno-shi (Iga area)

I will be arriving at Ueno-shi station around 10pm at night with my son from Nagoya. We will be staying at Ueno City Hotel, about 3min walk according to the information. Is it safe to walk? Any taxi? Expensive?

I've never stayed there before but browsing the internet, the hotel is located on the narrow road and the area seems very quiet. Though I don't think it is dangerous to walk to the hotel, if you feel uncomfortable or don't want to drag suitcase, then take a cab from the station.
