Mangaka and novel writing assistance

I am a Singaporean, 12, and deperately wants to be a mangaka. However, I have no idea how to begin my ambition. I'm afraid to go through secondary life and etc without realizing my dream. Anyone, please help!!! NOTE: I am currently writing a love novel with it's venue sitiuated in Japan, Fukuoka. I have never been to Japan and would like to know of the festivals there. ^ ^ ;

Go to your local library or bookstore and pick up all the books on Japan you can.

If you are writing historical read up on history, if modern day japan, look up online japanese newspapers to follow current events.
