Osaka, Nara, Kyoto trains

We are in Osaka and going to Nara for 2 nights, then to Kyoto for 5 nights. Does the train from Nara go directly to Kyoto or do you have to change trains somewhere, such as Osaka? If so, we might just leave our big bags in a locker at Osaka JR station.
