Climbing Mount Fuji in Novmber 2007/10/17 02:09
Hi,

Is it ok to climb Mount Fuji in Mid-november? Is there an organisation to contact about climbing Mount Fuji? I'm not an experienced hiker but would in be very good shape.

Many Thanks

There will be snow on Mt. Fuji by that time- unless you are an experienced alpinist you shouldn't go far past the 5th station in winter.

Transport options become very limited in the off-season although there are buses to the 5th station (half way up the mountain) on the weekends.

You shouldn't try climbing Mt. Fuji in Winter unless you are experienced or have a guide. It's not like hiking. There are some sites with a few infos about it:

Visiting Mount Fuji 2007/10/20 20:09
Ok, so its not safe. So is it still worth seeing for a visit? You spoke of the 5th station; is that worth going to alone. Do you still get a view?
thanks
