Short trip in Tokyo

Last day of our trip will be in Tokyo.Our hotel is in Ikebukuro area and we will go to Narita airport from Ueno Sta at 14.00pm at latest(our Flight time is 17.15 pm.).We would like to visit Harajuku area,Sunshine city prince Observation gallery or Tokyo Metropolitan Observation gallery .Please advise more places that we can visit within our time frame.Also,route from place to place,time consume and transportation.

As seen from Ikebukuro railwaystation: East Exit walk to Sunshine City outlook 60th floor ( fee Yen 620 ), By JR Yamanote in direction of Shinjuku, but further on to Harajuku, back to Shinjuku, west exit and 15 min walk to Metropolitan Office Building Observation Platform ( free, so why visit Sunshine City outlook at Yen 620 ? ), back to Ikebukuro, pick up luggage continue by JR Yamanote line to Ueno ( if you go by Keisei line to Narita airport, better to Nippori station, two before Ueno, for easier transfer from JR track to Keisei track ). Train ride: Ikebukuro - Harajuku 15 min - Shinjuku 4 min, Ikebukuro 10 min, Nippori 15 min.

Thank you. Peter. if we plan to first visit Harakjuku, then Metropolitan Building/or Sunshine City. what time are those shop around Harajuku open? when does the costume play begin?

You speak of a Sunday? So do Sunshine city ( does not know opening hours ) and Metropolitan office first ( this opens 09.30 h ) then to Harajuku ( shops at 10.00 h and later ). Sorry, cosplay is not a theater performance at fixed times, but just people with similar interest who are gathering, preferably later then too early. You can just have a look.
