Kansai Passport (Kyoto & Osaka)

My family will be on Osaka/Kyoto/Tokyo/Hakuba 13 day tour. I intend to use 7-day JR Pass once I travel fm Kyoto to Tokyo onwards. Is it economical to get 4-day Kansai Passport once I land in Kansai airport to Osaka and Kyoto or should I just buy train tickets when I need it? Thanks.

The Kansai Passport, in particular, is aimed towards travelers who enter and leave through Kansai Airport. Since you do not do so, I would consider paying for regular tickets or using other passes, such as the Kansai Thruh Pass or JR West Pass or a prepaid card like the Surutto Kansai Card.
