Yamano Hotel in Hakuba

Any feedback on this hotel? Any good restaurants near this hotel to recommend?

. . .is pretty small, if that hotel is located in the main ski resort area. Here's a site on eats:

I ate at Koiwa, mainly because I matched up the picture. Funny thing is, they had no fish on the menu, far as I could tell. Seemed to be a soba restaurant. However the tempura was excellent, maybe top five I've eaten in Japan. I'm not fussy about soba so can't rank that.

You might want to try the Mexican restaurant up the street . . . just kidding.
