Snow rental equipment

Hi
We are staying in the Scot hotel in mid December. I heard that the Scot hotel does not pre book snow equipment, therefore we are thinking of renting when we get there. Can someone advise whether it is safe to leave it until we get to Niseko? will we be guaranteeded equipment? or do you advise us to pre book in advance?
