what is the difference here? 2007/11/9 19:12
hello everyone,
I would like to know what the difference is between saying something is "ok/don't worry about it/etc" by using 『大丈夫』
VS 『もういいよ』.I've heard both used, but i feel they are different. Can anyone explain?thank you!^^

Just trying to explain through examples:

(You are walking with your friend and he/she stumbles)
- Kega shinakatta? (Did you not hurt yourself?)
- Daijoubu (I'm OK/I've got no problem.)

(You are having coffee with your friend and you accidentally knock over her/his coffee cup.)
- Gomennasai! (I'm sorry.)
- Daijoubu. (No problem/no damage done)
- Hontou ni gomennasai, gomennasai!! (I'm really sorry, sorry!)
- Mou ii yo. (You've said enough/no sweat/enough said.)

"Mou ii yo" is literally "It's already enough" = "enough said," "what's gone is gone," etc., so "no problem" in that sense...
