How much is the daily average for spending a day in Japan, meaning food, a little of shopping- not including hotel. How much do you guys think a day in US dollars, thanks a lot

Hi Carlos

You can easily do Tokyo sites, eating and some shopping for only $100 a day.

When I was there I budgeted $1000 a week (this was for two adults) and even with out packed itinary we still came home with change.

We ate at a local bakery most mornings (around $4-5 each) then lunch was either a noodle bar or take away ($6-10 each) and dinner varied from really nice restaurants to little yakitori hole in the wall type places (between $10-50 each depending on venue).

That left plenty for shopping and sites.

You might want to buy rail tickets in advance though, as that can save a lot of money!
