I'd like to write something in Japanese to a friend who met me there and later hosted my visit... can anyone help? Here's what I want to say.
I really enjoyed myself in Japan, and it was great meeting you at Asakusa!
Can anyone help?

yes, you're right.
that menas simply "aete", but more polite.
'au' is verb and 'ai' is noun. and we use 'ai' with 'o'(politeness).
