If we visit Harajuku on a Thursday evening around 4-8pm, can we still get to see young people engage in cosplay ("costume play")? I'm unable to visit Harajuku on a Sunday. Pls advise.

You can still see some, but definately not as many, and they may simply be there to shop and not hangout on the bridge. Just walking down Takashita dori normally has some. most go to eat at the jonathan's at the other end of that street too.

The girls are mainly there on Sunday because they are high/ junior high school students so they have the whole day off. On weekdays I usually see no-one on the bridge or just two or three, nothing like Sunday.
Maybe try on public holidays that fall on weekdays if you are able to?
