Hey, I'm currently living in Tokyo and wondering where they would sell evening gowns for a good price. Nothing like Ginza. Maybe about 30,000 yen max. There's going to be a Christmas part pretty soon, and some of us need to do some shopping.

Maybe you could look around for a dress rental shop? They tend to have nice party dresses available for Christmas season through graduation season (March)...

maybe, but some of the girls want dresses to keep. Are there no dressy stores in Tokyo?? Maybe Parco or Tobu or Seibu......

Formal dress shops in Seibu and Tobu may be a bit expensive (for wedding and other real formal occasions). Since you mentioned Tobu and Seibu, somehow I get the feeling you might be familiar with Ikebukuro area; then try for Parco (at least one feminine/frilly dress shop there) and Marui :)
