hi pple i'm arriving in Tokyo on 24th Dec, flying in from Hokkaido. Will be on our own in Tokyo...Need some advise for the following questions - I will be at Haneda Airport from Hokkaido, may i know what is the best way to get to Shinjuku Star Hotel? Is there NEX at Haneda Airport? My return flight is from Narita Airport back to my country. Thus i'm quite confused whether i should take limousine bus or NEX. - Is it difficult to locate the NEX outlet at Terminal 1? Is the queue usually long? May i purchase return tickets? - May i know the max no. of passengers the taxi can take? We are 4 adults and one children (11 yrs old).We hope to take a cab from our Shinjuku Star Hotel to Tsujiki Fish Market, may i know roughly how much will it cost? Tsujiki Fish Market - May i know if the market is open on Xmas day - Tuesday? Shoes - I will mot probably be wearing track shoes while i'm in Hokkaido, I will be flying in on 18th Dec, is it ok? Thanks for your help! =)

Uji's covered things nicely. However, as for getting to the airport, the Narita Express (NEX) is pretty expensive (though handy if you're in Shinjuku). The Kesei line from Ueno (and Nippori is a cheaper option), or you can take the JR Sobu line from Tokyo station. You can find the times here: http://www.hyperdia.com/For the Sobu line, you need to make sure that you select the "unreserved seat" option.

Don't have to take a cab from Shinjuku to Tsukiji. Take subway Oedo Line to Tsukiji-shijo, the market is one block away. The cab fare to Tsukiji will be more than 3,000 yen

The earliest Oedo Line subway train that leaves Shinjuku that would take you to Tsukiji-shijo is at 5:02, arriving at 5:21.

i'm not a morning person so have never made a successful trip to tsukiji however i believe the action starts a bit earlier than ther first train. serious players take the last train the night before and wait it out at denny's or johnathon's which are both very close.

dear all really thanks for the info.
May i ask if the NEX Tickets can only be purchased from Narita Airport? Can i purchase from Shinjuku Station? They do sell one way tickets right?
I'm travelling with another family and they prefer to travel to NEX as they will have a lot of lugguages.
Thank you.

You can buy the ticket and make the reservation for the Narita Express at Shinjuku or any other JR railway station in Tokyo.

Dear all thank you very very much for all the info and advise!
I had a fantastic time in Hokkaido and Tokyo, Tokyo was really an eye-opener for me. I was in Hokkaido from 18 - 24 Dec, flew to Tokyo on 24th and returned on the 28th Dec.
I certainly hope to visit Japan in 2008, for a different season. =))
