Trains in Tokyo and Kyoto 2007/12/16 03:43
Hi, I am flying to Tokyo and want to spend a couple of days in Kyoto. can someone help me what's the best transport card I should get. I saw that JR passes are quite interesting but do they includes the metro in both cities?
thanks

The Japan Rail Pass covers only JR trains. That does not include the subways in either city. But it does inlcude the convenient urban JR trains in Tokyo, such as the JR Yamanote Line. In Kyoto, urban JR lines are less useful.

In any case, the purchase of a Japan Rail Pass is justified by long distance trips rather than relatively cheap urban transportation.
