Bihoro to Abashiri?

I would like to travel from Bihoro to Abashiri. The hotel I've booked with has a shuttle service to Kitami, passing through Bihoro and I am planning on alighting at the latter to go onwards to Abashiri since it's nearer. However, am not sure if I can catch the earliest train in Bihoro due to possible delays on the road due to wintry weather (connection time seems too short for comfort). Is there a bus from Bihoro to Abashiri? How long is the journey and cost and is there a schedule? Thanks for any help at all.

Thanks Uji. I will likely miss the 11plus local train and was hoping that I would not have to wait for the next train which is the limited express coming at about an hour later. With your link it seems now there will not be a bus to fit inbetween and therefore if I miss that local train the next best would be to wait for the express. As always, you had the ready answer.
