Transport from airport to hotel 2008/1/3 21:56
Four of us will be arriving at Narita Airport in a couple of weeks and staying at Park Hotel, Shiodome Media Tower Higashi Shimbashi. What is the best way to travel there. How long will it take and how much will it cost. Thanks

If your flight schedule fits, there's a direct limo bus to Park Hotel. But this bus is not so frequent. Considering that you have a luggage, I recommend you to take Narita Express (train) from the airport to Tokyo station and take a cab to the hotel. Taxi fare from Tokyo station to the hotel is about 1000 yen and is worth as you don't have to climb up and down staircases with your luggage.

Park Hotel Shiodome is connected by underground hallways to JR Shimbashi station (of Yamanote line) but you have to walk about 10 min from the platform.

If you take the Narita Express, get off at Tokyo and wait for the next Yokosuka Line train, which will show up in 6 minutes on the same platform, then alight at next stop, Shimbashi. Yokosuka Line's platform is located underground, but there are escalators all the way to the exit. From there it's a seven-minutes walk to your hotel.

Or if you'd like to save another ten bucks on transport, you might catch the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori, which takes 55 minutes, and change to a JR Yamanote Line Tokyo bound train. Shimbashi is 8th stop.
