travelling with 4 children? 2008/1/4 05:43
Our (german) family will live in Japan for two years. During this time we want to visit touristic hot spots and other special sites. Our children are at the age of 5,7,9,11. We have no idea, how overnight stays in ryokans are to manage with the children and what we have to pay for them. From what age children have to pay for entrances? We would be grateful for any experience exchange concerning travelling with many children in Japan. Who could help?

It depends on ryokans and tourist spots. As ryokans normally offer breakfast and dinner for guests, when kids need their own meals, they're likely to be charge. Or if kids need their own "futon sets," they will be charged.

Since you'll be here for 2 years, you can get info while your stay in Japan :)

Ryokans accepting not only Japanese people but also foreigners will provide you with the sufficient information in English how much they charge you. Just take a look at their website when you travel :)
