my plane leavs narita airport at 2:15 pm. what time should i arrive at the airport for the security check?

Most airlines recommend 3 hours. I recommend a minimum of 2 hours. Except on busy days, security check and immigration does not take much time at Narita. Sometimes, there are no lines, at all. But on really busy days, security check and immigration can take 20+ minutes.

You might want to be at the airport at noon for peace of mind.
Most airlines close check in one hour prior to the scheduled departure time, United 45 minutes before departure, as far as my knowledge is concerned.
