MrsValen,

I would like to know if people in Japan see the Manga books and Anime are a social?

Can you explain what you mean by "are a social", because it doesn't make sense to me?

Does everyone watch or read anime? The answer is NO.

There's already a long thread on it:

Do they hold conventions? Yes there are anime/manga themed conventions in Japan.

But not everyone reads or watches anime. Some do, some don't. Someone might watch an animated movie ones and a while but doesn't neccessarily mean they read or watch it all the time.

Sometimes it can be antisocial if someone is a really big fan (I'm not saying this is always the case, however "real" Otaku generally speaking are a subculture).
