what i mean is does every one reads and watch anime? and do they have anime conventions?

Do they hold conventions? Yes there are anime/manga themed conventions in Japan.
But not everyone reads or watches anime. Some do, some don't. Someone might watch an animated movie ones and a while but doesn't neccessarily mean they read or watch it all the time.
Sometimes it can be antisocial if someone is a really big fan (I'm not saying this is always the case, however "real" Otaku generally speaking are a subculture).
