tourist - family visa possible?

my mother is currently here in japan as tourist... im just wondering if tourist visa becomes family visa... how? since me and my sister live and work here... how can it be?

There is no such thing as a "family visa".
Unfortunately, your mom will have to get some other type of visa status like everyone else. Work visa for example.
