First visit to Japan

Hello from French Riviera.
Need your critics and imput re our next trip to Japan.
We arrive from Europe in Kansai airport. Train to Kyoto (4 nights) then train to Hiroshima (2 nights) then train to Osaka (one night)after a few hours stop in Himeji, then train to Kanazawa (2 nights). We still have one night left before reaching Tokyo where we already booked 5 nights before flying back to France.
Are we right in choosing Kanazawa for a two nights stay after Osaka or should we go elsewhere to spend, in this case, those three remaining nights ? We'll purchase a 14 days JR Pass.

If you could have, it would have been better to fly into Kansai and out of Narita. Then you could have got away with just a 7 day pass.
As for Kanazawa, it really depends what you want to do? Another possiblity would be 2-3 nights in Hakata with a day trip to Nagasaki and maybe a day trip to Kumamoto.
