just wanted to share this information: ...for soto robes and other implements in kyoto, the main source is matsumotoya. you can email them at kyoto@matsumotoya.com or visit www.matsumotoya.com (webpage is in nihongo). the english speaking guy there is named tommy. they have i think two storefronts in town, but i'm not sure where. there are a lot of shops downtown across the street from hongwan-ji the big jodo shin temple, but those all might be jodo shin shops. ...
