We see that tickets for the Sumo tournament in Osaka this March 2008 will soon go on sale. Does anyone know how to reserve tickets in advance for non residents of Japan? Can they be reserved and purchased at the box office, or must they be delivered to a Japanese address? We hope to go on Saturday March 22, 2008. Since it is on a weekend and the next to the last day of the tournament we do not want to try for tickets the day of the event at the door. Last year Sunrise tours had excursions but I can not find any for this year's March Osaka tournament. Help???

We are planning on going to that tournament in Osaka and have been investigating how to get tickets. The tickets go on sale tomorrow 10 Feb. The only way we have found to get tickets is to call Sumo Kyokai in Tokyo on 06-6645-9999 - but you must be able to speak Japanses. You can book the tickets, pay with credit card and have them sent to your hotel in Japan.
