My father's 88th is coming up. We'd like his grandkids to present a program for him. We'd like to explore what the meaning and significance is behind this.

Beiju is written as Ď in kanji. is rice but can be considered a combination of three characters, (eight)@(ten)@ (eight). is cerebration.
As a tradition, yellow- or gold-colored goods are given as a gift. When my grandmother-in-law turned 88, all the family members, including grandchildren and grand-grand children, gathered at a ryokan, had a party and had our family picture taken :)
