koto and mono difference?

大切にしたいもの 大切にしたいこと 大切にしたいとき
Well, 大切にしたいもの should be ''the thing (something) I want to treasure'' but what is 大切にしたいこと then? Isn't koto also ''thing''? or maybe mono here means ''person''? It's kana so I am not sure...

"Mono" is a tangible thing, like a present you were given for example in this case.
"Koto" is an intangible thing, like a goal, a relationship for example. We don't differentiate this in English but in Japan there are separate words.
