Fuji-san-must see? 2008/2/17 23:41
i will be travelling to hokkaido (Rutsusu Ski resort, Toya Lake & Sapporo)to spend 4 nights and 3 nights in tokyo. should i go to Fuji-san? should i stay over in that area too? or should i just enjoy the beauty of tokyo city (Ginza,Shinjuku, Asakusa, etc etc)? this is my first time to Japan.
thanks

On clear days, you can see Fujisan from Tokyo (or the airplane). Whether you want to make the effort to travel closer to it depends on your personal preferences.

You could do a day trip to Hakone, which is realtively close to Fuji-san, but also there you need to have luck with the weather.
If you don't want to climb Fuji-san (only reasonable in Summer, without the snow), there's no need to get to the mountain.
