Money for customs

Im going to be spending 3 months in Japan going to a language school. I already will have most of it paid for before I land in the country, but I understand that if customs thinks I dont have enough money they wont let me in. I will probably have about $1000 in the bank when I get there, and will have my parents supporting me from home with an additional thousand a month.
All I have to pay for is train fare, and rent once a month after I get there. Will I have any trouble?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Customs isn't in charge of admitting people into the country. Immigration is (Customs is done after Immigration).
If you come from a Visa waiver country, most times you will be hassle free entry. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
