Direct route from Matsuyama to Kotohira

Does anyone know what the fastest way from Matsuyama to Kotohira is? The only way I could think of is to take the train from Matsuyama to Okayama then get on another train and go from Okayama to Kotohira. Is there a closer stop in Shikoku where I could transfer trains? I also checked on the JR railway website for the timetable and couldn't find the Kotohira stop. Unless the station is a different name. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take JR Limited Express Ishizuchi（いしづち） to Tadotsu (多度津)and switch to JR Limited Express Nanpu (南風）to Kotohira. It takes about 3 hrs.
There's JR Kotohira station.
